Harambee is a Kenyan tradition of community self-help events, e.g. fundraising or development activities. Harambee literally means “all pull together” in Swahili.
The Harambee philosophy embodies ideals of assistance, joint effort, mutual social responsibility, and community self-reliance.
HARAMBEE: ALL PULL TOGETHER
As a charity, with most of our income coming directly from our audiences, the financial impact of the continued closure of our theatre is significant and damaging. We have lost around 87% of our self-generated income and need your support to rebuild and reopen as soon as possible.
If you can, please join hundreds of others who have already supported the Harambee: All Pull Together Campaign from July 21 to September 22 and consider making a donation. Your generosity will be felt by thousands of young people, as well as adults, whose lives are transformed through incredible experiences of Shakespeare and live theatre. Your support is more important than ever and every gift is very much appreciated.
- Let’s all pull together to educate the community.
- Let’s all pull together training the next generation of talent.
- Let’s all pull together to make us a more open and welcoming place for everyone.
