A POWERFUL, POIGNANT DRAMA
The Magnolia Ballet is a piece written for our times. This poignant tale mixes drama, dance, and poetry to explore the relationship between a father and his queer son in rural Georgia. Ezekiel VI, or “Z,” is unlike the other boys. The death of his mother has taken a toll on him, and his emotionally distant father, Ezekiel V. Z, and his father struggle to define who they are together and separately in their old family home where the ghosts live inside the walls.
Plowshares Theatre Company, Michigan’s only professional African American theatre, is proud to present the Detroit premiere of this emotionally engaging play.
